8 S.Ghosh on Sunday, June 01, 2008 :

It is not only the French. If you look at any book on ancient civilizations or history of science written by the Anglo-American writers, India is not there at all or mentioned only very briefly. As a result people in the West think they did everything and civilization starts with Greece-Rome with a little bit China and Egypt thrown in. India is not there in the picture.
7 R.Sharma on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 :

French are very arrogant. They used to say that Japanese are nothing but robots. Now they are trying to say Asians are just hard workers but without much brain.
6 S.Ghosh on Sunday, May 25, 2008 :

I have not read Guy Somon"s book but I read some of his articles in the Internet. He is attacking the East as a whole, not necessarily Chinese, but the combination of all that is East. His idea about India is strange, an India of the mud house, vedic chanting and so on. There is no appreciation of India"s contributions to the world of civilization. I have seen a number of books written by the British and Americans about history of science, they have similar ideas that everything came from the West.
5 chanakya on Friday, May 23, 2008 :

i happened to read this book in french. what a surprise ! this book is all about the false idea that the americans and europeans make of the chinese and tries to show the other side of China"s economic success. that"s all..guy sormon does not speak of India and this is just a book about China why you have to attack Guy Sormon USELESSLY ? Here is a french man who has always written highly of India"s wisdom praising even that the western people have a lot to learn from Indian vedic philosophy. Are if you are a chinese or a pro-chinese (not to say communist) , you could be vexed because the book is crude about their ways. But not if you are an Indian.please read his book on India, "le génie de l"Inde" or the genuis of India" and you will understand that guy Sormon wants the West to emulate not to say imitate India so deeply he is in admiration with the Eastern VALUES.
4 S.Ghosh on Thursday, May 22, 2008 :

We are all human being, so there cannot be much difference between The East and The West. The claim of the West that they have invented everything is due to their ignorance. They do not want to learn about history.
3 R.Sharma on Thursday, May 22, 2008 :

Mongols, Turks, Arabs are great killers too. Chinese are also. Japanese killed a lot of Chinese. Nadir Shah was there too. They were all from the East.
2 S.Ghosh on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 :

There are some differences. Real Western people( from USA/UK etc) are ruthless, they can kill millions, to enrich themselves. We cannot do that. We can never be so ruthless.
1 A.Moron on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 :

Chandra Gupta Maurya has married a Greek princes, daughter of Seleucus, the Greek King of Babylon. Emperoror Jehagir"s mother was Armenian. So where is East and where is West?
