14	wijayapala on Feb-14 : Hello I am a Sri Lankan friend of Mohan and I would like to correct some misperceptions here. There is no genocide against Tamils more or less Hindus or Hinduism. The Sri Lankan military has avoided civilian casualties up until recently, but the LTTE is now cornered and is using Tamils as human shields. These Tamils represent about 1/10th of the total Tamil population in Sri Lanka, and they are both Hindu and Christian. The LTTE murdered a Hindu priest in 2007 for the crime of blessing President Mahinda. Tigers spit on the Hindu religion as they encourage the killing of wildlife animals for food (read pro-LTTE Margaret Trawick"s recent book for evidence of this meat-eating). Ramachandran"s comments about most Tamils living among Sinhalese are spot-on. The war will end very soon and the Tamils will be freed. We welcome Indian assistance to rebuild N-E Sri Lanka and help restore dignity to the Tamils.
13	A.Moron on Feb-14 : Most of the people, about 80,000 killed in Sri Lanka by the SriLankan military are Tamil Hindus. One can see Tamil Hindus running away from Ari Lanka, there are few millions in India already. One cannot see Sri Lankan armymen, or Muslims or Beef Eating Sri Lankan violent Buddhists running away from Ari Lanka as they are the killers, not the victims. Dixit was one of those evil advisers to a very ignorant PM of India Rajib Gandhi, who has sent Indian army yo help Sri Lankan military to kill the Hindu Tamils.No one should trust any words said by Dixit or Jagat Mehta or any of the Doon school friends of Rajib Gandhi.

This is what I noted "Over 80,000 people including members of the security forces and the LTTE are said to have been killed in the 25 year old ethnic conflict. Some estimates have placed the figure much higher." Clearly, it is not members of one faith, and not genocide but WAR. Simple. The numbers gone are due to the war. Wikipedia gives a break up of the number into security forces, LTTE forces, police forces and so on.. and another report gives numbers disappeared as well, kidnapped by the LTTE and so on. Wiki also astonishingly gives the many lists of attacks by the LTTE and notable assassinations done by them. Obviously very bad things are happening, lots of lies are spread around and emotional people are misled by all sides. Let us spare Mr A. M oron, he is not alone in this confusion.

His logic seems to be; it is okay if L T T E kills hundreds of buddhists at the Holy Tooth temple in Sri Lanka or if countless Tamil leaders from other parties are killed by L T T E and if it is okay that thousands of Sinhalese and 75000 muslims are chased out of northern-eastern provinces - because "80000 Hindus" died ? Hello 80000 Sri Lankans of all faiths died due to war waged by the L T T E on the state, it isn"t 80,000 Hindus. 250000 people got displaced due to this war as per UN reports. As Mohan is saying, Mr A. Moron is lying through his hat. Can someone tell Mr A. Moron to be consistent in war against terror ? Open challenge to A. Moron : can you read HR Rights reports and UN Reports and JN Dixit"s report and the newspapers and learn the facts well ? For your information Guardian London did not say "Hindus" of 80000 died, Mr Liar.
10	A.Moron on Feb-13 : According to the Guardian London, 80,000 Hindu Tamils were killed during the last 20 years of freedom fighting for the Tamils. Srilankans are racists. They discriminate against the Tamils. That was the root cause of the problem. Even today SriLankans do not want to give any human rights to the Tamils. Srilanka was always anti-Indian. Indira Gandhi did the right thing to support LTTE as all other avenues to do justice to the Tamils were blocked by the SriLankan. It is unfortunate that her son Rajib was so ignorant and could not know what is right and what is wrong.
9	Ramachandran on Feb-12 : Tamils are living just like Sinhalese in South and central Sri Lanka. The mono-ethnic Tamil state of Eelam in north+east of Sri Lanka is where maximum poverty, illiteracy, conversion, terrorism, children kidnapping, suicide b0mbing and LTTE logistics takes place. Many fled from North and East saying they cannot afford to give their children to the LTTE, and obviously they are targetted by the LTTE. Unfortunately India"s Indira Gandhi helped LTTE by training them in initial stages. The right thing to do is to dislodge LTTE and pressurise Sri Lanka to give space to ethnic aspiration without partitioning. If India cannot do that better keep away from this very very dangerous region in which Sri Lanka got a raw deal from both British and Indians. Sri Lanka is a vital link to India"s culture of 3000 years, both Buddhist and Hindu, and India should play constructive role ( not like cheap Indira and MGR tactics ).
8	Mohan on Feb-12 : A. Moron is lying or is ignorant. l.t.t.e brought in armed struggle and terrorism and put civilian lives at stake by using them as shield. Even now 1.5 lakh Tamils are held at gun-point, are being fired at by (surprise) l.t.t.e and are prevented from fleeing. Just 2 days back 28 people were killed by suicide bombing by l.t.t.e. Where were you ? Like India has a right to fight against terrorism, Sri Lanka has a right to fight terrorism and safeguard their nation from partition. And FYI l.t.t.e is a semi-christian organization. All their cadre are BURIED ( not cremated ). Charles Anthony is son of Pirabakaran. Anton Balasingham, a christian was their spokesman till he died. 75000 muslims were chased out in 48 hours by the l.t.t.e and Sinhalese were chased out from north. l.t.t.e got split and Col Karuna led the rebel wing, participated in Eastern province elections etc. From last 2 years there are no killings in Eastern province because l.t.t.e was defeated in East. Why are you silent on l.t.t.e"s smuggling activities, illegal weapon hauling, suicide bombings, stubborn terrorism and armed guerilla warfare and l.t.t.e"s liquidation of ALL alternate Tamil leadership?
