4	g kapuria on Apr-21 : The best books I know of Swamiji are written by Rajagopal Chattopadhyaya. Swami Vivekananda in the west, and Swami Vivekananda in India: A corrective Biography. Both are well-researched, balanced books.

You have almost covered EACH AND EVERY POINT which I have been raising in different foras, including in Orkut community SWAMI VIVEKANANDA AND VEDANTA time and again. I am a moderator of one Google Group called DEVOTEES OF HOLY TRIO (SHRI RAMAKRISHNA, SRI SARADA DEVI AND SWAMI VIVEKANANDA), and you will find all of these points raised by me for almost last 7 years. I will like to add one more point, I dont know why you have left out? According to me Swami Vivekananda was born on 11th September 1893, because it was Narendranath Datta who was born on 12th January 1863. It is also a well recorded fact that NAME OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA WAS ASSUMED BY SWAMIJI ONLY ON 11TH SEPTEMBER 1893, DAY WHEN PARLIAMENT OF RELIGIONS WAS INAUGRATED AND SWAMI VIVEKANANDA WAS KNOWN WHOLE OVER THE WORLD AS SOON AS HE FINISHED THAT FAMOUS SPEECH AT CHICAGO. It was not because of only few words like SISTERS AND BROTHERS...that SWAMIJI AND THAT SPEECH IS REMEMBERED WORLD OVER EVEN AFTER 115 YEARS, BUT THE WHOLE SPEECH OF 7 MINUTES WHICH DREW SPONTANEOUS APPLAUSE OF ALMOST 3-4 MINUTES AND A STANDING OVATION FROM 7000 DELEGATES REPRESENTING ALMOST ALL RECOGNISED RELIGIONS OF WORLD. I will like to quote the last para of that speech, which is very relevant IN TODAYS WORLD SCENARIO... "I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honor of this convention may be death-knell of all fanaticism, of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal."
