Plastic bag ban! Even Bangladesh did it
India Forum: Comments, Opinion - Information Resource
News Summary: A great sense of feeling sinked in when my lil one came back home with a piece of paper which talked about the three Rs - Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. He had understood very little though and the enormity of what he had learnt eluded him. But, my own thoughts wandered because they were still as relevant (and perhaps more relevant) as they were when I had learnt about them when I was little. Nothing much had changed in all the years. I still remember like it was yesterday when I tucked under my mom.....read more in: Plastic bag ban! Even Bangladesh did it

It was a very good article. I do not collect plastic bags at all. I carry my own bag for shopping and reuse whatever covers get accumulated. My biggest challenge is to impress upon my family members to follow the same. Nobody at my house respects my views. Plastic bags are simply thrown into the dust bin because there is no place to keep them at home or simply not worried about the consequences.I have informed my family members not to accumulate plastic bags and if collected, not to throw them into the dustbin. But nobody seems to understand my point of view. But I shall not give up.
I need another piece of information. The dustbin covers (black ones) that are sold - are they ok?
I need some more technical information - Do we have any law in India which bans pastic of some microns and above? I saw a reference of this in this article but need some more info. The plastics used below the specified micron - are these degradeable? What are the other hazards caused by these plastic covers?

I need this information to seek support of my family members to avoid collecting and disposing plastic covers indiscriminately
I will extend this to my community as well.
Thanks in advance
Mathangi

Proud Hindu on Friday : We all must strongly denounce and condemn the violence and the gundagiri of the Shiv Sena and the MNS. Throw these bums out. They don"t represent me, a proud Hindu, in the least.
g kapuria on Friday : I strongly disagree. Secularists are the biggest threat to India. They shelter the fundamentalist muslims and christians. Secularist newsmedia do not report their misdeeds, which gives goondas like Bal and Raj Thackeray a platform.

I wonder why Amnesty or HRW never demanded mass murder and ethnic cleansing of Hindus and Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir. Guess they don"t care about Hindus" human rights, especially when Islamic Terrorists, Pakistani and Muslims are culprits.

Although it is not impossible to figure out before the marriage is arranged, it is sad that many brides get caught in the dowry traps set up by parents-in-laws generally with consenting groom.

A sure fire way not to get trapped in such vicious cycle is to discard a part of the arranged marriage process and the want-to-be bride and groom s....

Come on you people. When your own country rewards Indians to insult their motherland, what do you expect from the British, who are encouraging these people.

Truth Speaks on May-21 : "There is no middle ground in War on Terror" [1 comments]

Dick Cheney is absolutely correct on this. While Bush and Cheney miserably failed on economy and Iraq, no one can point a finger at them when it comes to keeping America safe and secure from Islamic Terrorists. More Americans are feeling that Obama is going soft on Terrorists. No wonder, Obama is fast losing support of patriotic Americans and even ....
