India Forum: Comments, Opinion - Information Resource
News Summary: India and Canada may not be able to sign a civilian nuclear agreement anytime soon as the two countries are yet to clear hurdles that would lead to the start of formal negotiations. No business deal is devoid of personal interests, a point made by S. Singh at 14:13 Today. Corruption and corrupt practices have been staple of life from ancient time to present day India.

For all practical purposes, for politicians running the government, all actions are business deals; when they forget to conclude it as transparent business deals governments more than likely fail.

Here is an interesting expose, "The Difficulty Of Being Wise" by Gurucharan Das The book review appears as An Epic Retold at Outlook, August 25 issue.
5 Truth Speaks on Aug-24 :

We can neither fully trust US,UK,Canada nor Russia,China etc. Nations don"t have permanent friends, but permanent interests.

S. Singh at 14:13 Today: Generally, I find Brahma Chellaney"s arguments left leaning and devoid of original solutions based on out-of-the box thinking.

Anyways, in business deals, socialist, capitalist, communists or whatever, all parties look at the bottom line and then act when they are satisfied with potential value for their side. America, Canada, Australia, etc are all looking for financial opportunities; they may act to show that they are driven by principles but we all know better.

You may be interested in looking up, "The Chinese way of war" by Shahzad Chaudhry in the Daily News, August 24 issue. You will have to access it by going to archives as Aug 25th issue has already been posted.

It discusses Chinese strategy of global domination in 5 to 15 years through its economic prosperity driven power. You may disagree with some parts but the point is even communist China counts on the economic power for global domination and once it attains that status it is willing to give up nuclear opetions, easily said than done in the world of real politics.

BTW, Shahzad Chaudhry is a retired air vice marshal of Pakistan and a former envoy.
3 S. Singh on Aug-24 :

Kishan boss,

do you realize who are kangress crooks. kangress bulls...ts and walk away with the money. this is the pattern over past 60 years. all a sudden these we are expecting these jokers to change their stripes!!

The deal is about denuking India, setting up a strict inspections regime, and allowing india"s nuclear weapons apparatus wither away. Americans offer these types of "deals" to Iran and N. Korea as well. We"ll take you off the list we put you on, if you allow "inspectors".... Remember what these American "Inspectors" did in Iraq

Read up Brahma Chellaney. He is best strategic analyst out there.
2 A.Moron on Aug-24 :

These are expected. USA-Canada-UK-Australia cannot be trusted on any matters as shown by the bitter experience with these countries for the last 60 years. They used to hate us, now with the smell of money they are coming to India to cheat us.

1 030201kishankb on Aug-23 :

In all stories about nuclear plant supply deals with India, we should remember the bottom line, which is in a business deal, "money talks, bulls**t walks."

See how arrogant the channel is. It seeks to intimidate the SC. The SC has not pronounced its verdict but the channel seeks to preempt it with a provocative headline. As to the channel"s dubious standards one hardly need comment. There was not a whimper when the SC allowed a revision of its judgement in the Bhopal beard case. The judge who first he....

A.Moron on Aug-23 : Singh expulsion painful necessity, says Advani [1 comments]

Thus, Jaswant Singh has proved himself a Trozan Horse inside both BJP and the Indian Army where he used to be a major. A Jinnah lover, pro-Pakistani like him was in the Indian army and in the top layer of Indian politics.
There are many more like him, which is extremely dangerous for India.

I must add being a secular person, I do not distinguish between Hindu Pakis or Muslim Pakis in India in damaging Indian psyche except rare honorable persons like Advani who alone has wiped out sins of half of Pakis who migrated or infiltrated into India from East Pakistan or West Pakistan.

The writer is a typical secular jokeroo who thinks he"s being clever by faithfully servicing his islamo-christian masters. Truth Speaks on Aug-19 : Jaswant says expulsion regrettable [1 comments]

I think it is a wrong step(not a bad though) by BJP. Jaswant"s expulsion is totally unnecessary. They should have first removed him from party key position and then show cause notice and then expulsion. Now he has sympathy on his side. But one thing is for sure, Jaswant always took advantage of BJP for his personal promotion.
