India & problem of Secularism - II
India Forum: Comments, Opinion - Information Resource
News Summary: Indias civilizational character, is patently and dominantly Hindu. Whether we call this Hinduism, or call this Sanatana Dharma, or Arya Dharma or the Indic Civilization, or Hindutva, it does not really matter. These days, the word Hindu has become too politically charged with meaning - One can only say that India is not predominantly Hindu by mis-representing what Hinduism is fundamentally; by narrowing down what is meant by the term Hinduism into a creed or religion comparable to Islam and Chri.....read more in: India & problem of Secularism - II

well written article. I hope someone has a good grasp of psycho-socio-economic underpinnings of the conversion mania. We as Hindus are trying to tackle the smoke with emotionally charged rhetoric, but not able to see the cause of the fire. No use blaming Hindus who call themselves secular as everyone define securalism differently.
We need to learn lessons from the pshycological pyramid that talks about addressing the basic needs of physical and emotional wellbeing. When these two are not fullfilled, no human being is prepared to learn about the intellectual and spiritual ramifications of conversions.
I am yet to hear or meet someone from a Hinduism promoting organization who has taken efforts to address, understand or perhaps attempted to look into himself/ herlself to see if there is a peaceful way to address conversions than outrightly blaming the missionaries ( whom I do not support at all) for taking advantage of the poor.

Proud Hindu on Friday : We all must strongly denounce and condemn the violence and the gundagiri of the Shiv Sena and the MNS. Throw these bums out. They don"t represent me, a proud Hindu, in the least.
g kapuria on Friday : I strongly disagree. Secularists are the biggest threat to India. They shelter the fundamentalist muslims and christians. Secularist newsmedia do not report their misdeeds, which gives goondas like Bal and Raj Thackeray a platform.

I prefer the catch phrases Younglandia, Youngpradesh, Youngstanam over "Youngistan."

And at the same time supports Terrorism against India by giving billions of $$$ to Pakistan, s state sponsor of Terrorists. US funds Terrorism(Pak) one side and issues travel alerts on the other(India). Is this a way of controlling, black mailing and containing India?

On the one hand US allows release of LeT Terrorist chief and on the other hand issues negative travel alert against India. US is hurting India both ways. An estimated up to 400 million very poor (Rs. less than40 per day income) may benefit with Rs. 50,000 crore or $10 billion, which works out to $2.5 per person. IMO, it is a small price to pay to inhibit malnourishment of children of very poor.

Following summary is provided by Mr. Ram Krishnan; please contact me if you need to read full art....
