First Military Assault on Tibet - Part I
India Forum: Comments, Opinion - Information Resource
News Summary: Anytime the present Dalai Lama, the Fourteenth one, is discussed in western media, China is mentioned in an accusatory tone, and blamed for committing all the horrendous crimes in Tibet. The news items give the impression that the bald and cuddly Dalai Lama is the sweetest darling second only to the teddy bear to the western hearts, which are bleeding incessantly ever since he fled Lhasa - on the 17th of March 1959 - and took refuge in India. Politicians of the West, and western media reinforce.....read more in: First Military Assault on Tibet - Part I

10 Dr Nachiketa Das on Jul-16 :

To Mr Mohan
Dear Sir
I much appreciate your insightful comments on my articles. I have not forgotten your request to write an article on Subhas Chandra Bose. I would like to mention here that although Subhas Chandra Bose was an ethnic Bengali he was born in Cuttack town of Orissa, where I was born. Subhas Bose therefore, is not only a great Indian leader but also my hometown hero, whom I hold in very great esteem just like the vast majority of Oriyas and Bengalis. He moreover, is a prominent figure in Indo-Japan relations, which is the area of research of my wife Mrs Shizuka Imamoto, who is Japanese and hails from Hiroshima. So we will write on Subhas Chandra Bose.
With best wishes and kind regards
Yours sincerely
Dt Nachiketa Das
9 Ram Bhatia on Feb-24 :

It is so funny and so pathetic to see this "Special Associate Professor of Hiroshima University" sink into his own cesspool of bogus credentials. Happens to Communists all the time when their wacko rants are exposed. Doesn"t anyone at ivarta.com READ what is submitted to them before posting it? These articles are so obviously trying to manipulate stupid Indians that only stupid Indians could fail to see it. "Preparing to take up Professorship and Deanship of an Indian University.." :rotfl:

The journal editor says it all if you know what to read. Apparently they at least can read, which is more than you can say about the President of Hiroshima University.
8 Narayanan on Feb-22 :

Having asked N.Das to consider contributing to the peer-reviewed SRR journal (see Comment #1), I need to make clear a few things:
1. I did not realize that "feedback to author" would result in the comment apppearing in public, or I would not have made such a request through that medium. No endorsement was implied.
SRR is a peer reviewed journal, as made clear in my initial comment.
2. The invitation to consider submitting articles for review was based on the author"s statement of credentials at the bottom, stating that he is a "Dr", "Associate Professor" etc. Such people are generally very well tuned into what "peer reviewed journal" means, and what "anonymous peer review means", which is why I hoped that publishable articles might result. I had not read the articles at the time.
3. The consideration ended when the author abruptly withdrew the submissions, so that the question of posting the articles on our blog site did not arise.
4. Further comments are held in abeyance.

7 Dr. Binoy Chatterjee on Feb-22 :

Interesting that the author responds to a reader comment by Bhatia on the quality of his article, by citing his grandiose credentials. So it is fair to let us examine those. The author apparently also claims to have been "an officer of Harvard University", (apparently he held a post-doc appointment in some department for a short time before they found out what the readers here are finding out). By that, any student who held a job stacking books at the library is also an "officer of the university". He also claims to be a CEO, a Director, "preparing to take up Deanship and Professorship of an Indian University", a PhD from some British dump, to have "managed several international programmes for the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India", and is apparently the primary brain in the Australian CSIRO, from reading his claims.

This sounds like a copy of the guy who claimed to be the ISRO"s main scientist, and became the right-hand man of the RSS until the newspapers published his real credentials.

His articles have no facts, just rants. "Wacko rants" is an accurate description.

Despite all these claims, the Harvard Abstracts Search Engine shows up a grand total of ONE journal publication where his name appears, somewhere in the middle of half a dozen authors (which means he was maybe working in the same building). There are about 3 other newspaper letters-to-Editors or technical reports with dozen co-authors that contain his name.

Any undergraduate has that and more. Most graduate students have many more than that.

Mahendra Joshi and ivarta.com need to take this guy"s articles off-line before they find themselves with a lot of publicity of the wrong kind. He does seem to have fooled a great many people, but I thank Mr. Bhatia for pointing out what should have been obvious to every awake reader.

His many appointments are explained by the fact that it seems to take each organization a bit of time to realize his real credentials. Good luck to that "Indian University" where he is "preparing to take up professorship and Deanship".
5 Dr. Binoy Chatterjee on Feb-22 :

Amazing. An article claimed to be written by a PhD, Harvard post-doc, Austrian scientist, Japanese associate professor. He says: "you are most welcome to independently verify the facts stated in our article" - why else, other than that he can"t verify them and post the references? Readers can spend 5 minutes reading this garbage and see what Mr. Bhatia sees so clearly. Ivarta.com should independently check up on the claims of these communists. Mr. Bhatia is absolutely right - these are totally wacko articles. Usually when that happens, it turns out that the author is a middle-school dropout with megalomaniacal claims.
4 Dr Nachiketa Das on Feb-12 :

Response to Mr Ram Bhatia. Dear sir, I like your hilarious pharase "wacko rant written by some Chinese communist". I am not Chinese, I was born and raised in India, did my Ph.D. from Britain, was Postdoctoral fellow of Harvard, a scientist in Australia, and now work as a professor in Japan. I may move back to India again to take up a professorship.

I would like you to know that like India, China also has suffered because of foreign occupation. Of course, countries in Africa and Latin America have suffered the most because of colonisation. It is time to know the truth so we that we can understand each other better.

You are most welcome to independently verify the facts stated in our article. And remember truth is more interesting than all the lies and cover ups.
With best wishes
Dr Nachiketa Das
3 Ram Bhatia on Feb-10 :

This is a wacko rant written by some Chinese communist.

Astounding, informative article.
Thanks to Shri N Das.

Feedback sent to Author: The-First-Military-Assault-on-Tibet---Part-I

Dear Dr. Nachiketa: Have you considered sending your article(s) on Tibet to the Security Research Review run by the Bharat Rakshak people? Our process is that we will post your article right away on the "Editor"s BLOG" http://brmsrr.blogspot.com/ while it is being reviewed by 3 anonymous reviewers. Anyone can comment on the article at the BLOG (comments are moderated, mainly to keep out the rakshasas) anytime. The reviewers" comments are passed back to you for modifications/improvements, and the final article is readied for inclusion in the archives of the BRM/SRR, with volume and issue number and year assigned. In the past, hard-copy publication has been done to cater to India-based people who prefer that, and in future this may get done as an e-journal if not print.

Please consider it. Submission instructions are given at the site, and we tend to support the broadest dissemination of your work, so its appearance in other forums would not be an obstacle (submission to other peer-reviewed journals should only be done with everyone kept informed, of course). For instance, my articles have appeared at ivarta.com and at other places, by mutual consent, in order to get the broadest readership and impact.

Thanks
narayanan
