News Summary: In India, we tend to forget the crimes committed against humanity by either the British or the Muslim rulers before them or the Muslim League and its child Pakistan. History books of India hardly mention that in 1943 at least 5 million people in Bengal were forced to starve to death by the British. There are no accounts of how many millions were slaughtered by the Muslim League guided by Jinnah during 1946 to 1948 and subsequently in Pakistan. 26	S.Ghosh on Sep-10 : 1) Gandhi-Nehru-Patel were involved in the decision to accept the British proposal to partition India. Also involved Pant, Kripalani. They have not considered even the Congress Party or the Working Committee ( have they?) They were weak leaders, and could not and never wanted to give a lerdearship to the real freedom movement. They were only good at starting a movement for 4-5 days and went back to the table to negotiate with the British. 2) Gandhi was controlled by Birla, Bajaj and the textile Mill oweners of Ahemadabad, who advised Gandhi to get rid of Subhas Chandra Bose, wheh he complained to Gandhi about the very low pay and inhuman conditions of the workers in the Jute Mills of Birla in Bengal. 3) Gandhi rejected the good Muslims ( like Fazlul Haque of Bengal, Khan Abdul Gaffer Khan of NWFP, Khan of Kalat of Balochistan, Allah Bux of Sindh), who never wanted to be in Pakistan. 4) Gandhi has rejected the advice of Sri Aurobindo to accept the Cabinet Mission Plan otherwise a total disaster would definitely happen to India. Sri Aurobindo was mocked at by Gandhi-Nehru. At the hindsight, what have we got: We have lost 40 percent of the country and more( if you take into account of Kashmir), at least 20 million refugees from Pakistan and still about 20 million Hindus-Buddhists in Bangladesh living like slaves, 140 Million Muslims already in India who took over the Bombay film industry to propagate their cause ( remember Mission Kashmir), and every border districts. And we have now Mamata Banerjee, a Muslim woman pretending to be a Hindu.
25	Mohan on Sep-10 : Regarding BJP: They have become a joke. Advani has to go. Both Advani and Jaswant lack the guts to squarely blame Nehru(vian) politics. They have ended up praising Jinnah which is not very much relevant to India at all. If Jaswant is saying Jinnah is demonized, even if true, so what ? India, Hindus are demonized by Pak no matter what. And Modi needlessly banned the book and got rapped by courts. This party has to be completely revamped. India needs to be cleaned up from top to down.

23	Mohan on Sep-10 : Now regarding Jinnah - Jinnah"s behavior changed after Congress lost his trust, and he engineered the partition. There is nothing to defend him. The issue is, if Congress could not handle Jinnah, how do you suppose Congress would be able to handle difficult people ? The future savage leaders of Pak and Chinese dictators and so on ? Jinnah said in 1947 that he has Assam in his pocket and can take it whenever he wants. Did Indian leaders learn from this ? No. Nehru said India does not have enemies and so doesn"t need army. And he got beaten and bruised in China war. India is India because of ordinary Indians, and not because of our third rate leaders. Blaming the enemy is easy, and blaming self is not. It is better if Indians wake up to reality sooner and throw this third-rate coterie politicking cabal.
22	Mohan on Sep-10 : I just saw the posts. It is true that Nehru did not directly architect partition, but he"s guilty of not preventing it. He was part of the cunning cabal. Nehru could never be trusted with kashmir/assam/Tibet/China issues or in the way in which he handled Netaji by conniving with Brits to hound and harass him, and for the way in which he ignored smarter leaders like Rajaji and Patel.( Nehru asked Patel to keep off Kashmir issue ). Such a half-bit leader could definitely not have handled Jinnah before Jinnah got dead serious in his intentions. If Jinnah is responsible for riots through his ill-conceived Direct Action, Nehru single-handedly rendered Hindus powerless and weak and meek forever under the cloak of democracy. India is bleeding not due to muslims but due to pseudo-secularism and maoist commie crocodiles which makes the nation vulnerable. Thus it is sacreligous to exonerate Nehru or any rogue who betrayed India"s First Prime Minister Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ( he was recognized so by 7 countries before Brits handed freedom to India ). I wish someone writes a book on the thuggery of this jackal leader whom we call Nehru.

Hindus were evicted by force from Kashmir, Mizoram, Tribal areas of Tripura, Assam and from the border areas of West Bengal. They are getting killed everyday in West Bengal. It was in Ramzam that the battle of Badr, the first open conflict between Islam and Heathenism [i.e., idolatry, which equates Hinduism] was fought and won by 313 Muslims; and again it was in Ramzan that 10,000 under the Holy Prophet conquered Mecca and established the kingdom of Heaven and the commonwealth of Islam in Arabia. Muslim League is fortunate that it is starting its action in this holy month. By the grace of God, we are ten cores [100 millions] in India but through our bad luck we have become slaves of the Hindus and the British. We are starting a Jehad in Your Name in this very month of Ramzan. Pray make us strong in body and mind-give Your helping hand in all out actions-make us victorious over the Kafers." Even after that those who put the blame on Nehru, should know the fact.

15	R.Sharma on Aug-27 : It is absurd to think that partition could be avoided if Nehru-Patel-Gandhi could agree upon a Federal Loose Structure. Of course it was a great mistake they made by accepting the British proposal to partition India, but that was after the Direct Action or mass-murder of Hindus in Calcutta, East Bengal, Bihar, Punjab. A Loose Federal Structure meant Muslims were at liberty to do what they like in the provinces with Muslim majority, and in about one third of India Maharajas and Nawabs could do what they liked. it would be total anarchy. however, if Nehru-Patel-Gandhi refused to accept the partition, there would be a total war between Muslim and Hindus, which had taken place at least in Pakistan after 15 August 1947. India is the loser in that game, because Muslims had not left India, only thye non-Muslims had to leave Pakistan.

How 22 percent of the population( Muslim in 1946 India) can have a parity with the 78 percent non-Muslims? Muslim League was not the only party to represent the Muslims. Thus, it was impossible for Jinnah in a democracy to be the PM or President. Only in a dictatorship he could be.

There were other parties of the Muslims: Peasants and Tenants Party of Bengal ( Fajlul Haque, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman), Unionist party in Sindh and Punjab ( Allah Bux, Sikander Hyat Khan), National Conference in Kashmir ( Sheikh Abdulla), Kudai Khidmatgar of NWFP ( Khan Abdul Gaffer Khan), who were all against the Muslim League. Jinnah just like Iqbal wanted a Hindustan with Muslim rule.

Nehru was anti-Hindu, but he never called the Muslims to start killing the Hindus to create Pakistan. Muslim League and his leader Jinnah was solely responsible for the creation of Pakistan according to his Two-Nation Theory It is absurd to say that because Jinnah wanted a federal structure and Nehru wanted an unitary structure, they had decided to partition India. Pakistan is not a Federation either, it is centrally controlled. J&K got near autonomy with article 370, even then all Hindus were either killed or expelled from Kashmir. Thus, even if Nehru would have agreed to a Federal Structure, Hindu-Sikh-Buddhists would be driven out by the Muslims from the Muslim majority provinces, as jinnah was trying to get out of the Cabinet Mission Plan somehow. The Direct Action and Mass Murder was his only weapon left in 1946. He was advised to do so by Winston Churchill as the British government decided not to take any action against their Muslim ally. In Calcutta Muslim went on killing and raping for 3 days from 14 to 17 August 1946, British did nothing. When the Hindus and Sikhs started reacting by killing the Muslims, full force of the British army and police were deployed against the Hindus and Sikhs. This is the history Traitor Jaswant Singh wants to hide. He should be hanged in front of the Pakistan Embassy in New Delhi.
11	Mohan on Aug-25 : Nehru"s cry-baby tactic: - take no pre-emptive steps ot action - underestimate or diregard adversaries - never worry about solutions to tricky problems. - why worry when you can cry mommy or shift the blame and whine ? Just find a convenient villain. - being head of party is ceremonial, it carries no need to understand complex issues.
10	Murugan on Aug-25 : All are missing one point which Jaswant made: Jaswant did research for many years and this is what he found - 1. Jinnah wanted a federal India. 2. Nehru the Tube Light wanted centrally controlled India. 3. Tube Light ate humble pie when state reorganization happened and some autonomy had to be given. 4. Jinnah lost patience with the coterie driven crooked politics practised by Congress. Jinnah, to the misfortune of Congress, was incorruptible, unpretentious and his own man(iac) from Bombay. History clearly shows that Nehru failed to understand anything and he sang along with British like their lackey. Do these leaders without conviction deserve respect ?

Jinnah was a bigger killer than Hitler if total numbers are counted because of loss of lives after he declared DIRECT ACTION, then the loss of lives after partition and the mass movements of people, the results of four wars and Pakis" proxi-war and cross border terrorism since 1947. Jinnah was 20th century product of Mahmud of Gazni or Ahmed Shah Abdali or Nadir Shah and this message needs to be spread as much as possible in the world.

It is better for India to allow them to take their assets, givem them justified price for their land and houses, pay subsidies to those who are poor, and settle this problem once for all. J&K should be partitioned according to the population pattern that used to exist in 1947. This is the solution. Otherwise you have look forward to the creation of 3rd or 4th Pakistans out of present India.

6	R.Sharma on Aug-25 : Gandhi, although he cannot be make responsible for the partition, had made everything worse by his contradictory policies. He has expelled Subhas Bose who wanted to start a mass movement against the British, which Gandhi objected. However, Gandhi withdrew support from the Government when Britain declared war against Germany. Gandhi was not non-violence, but advised the Jews to get killed, and advised Britain to surrender. Because of these stupid remarks, a lot of British who had sympathy for India"s independence lost their cool and started taking Muslim League seriously, as they have supported the British during the war. Then Gandhi started his farse of August Movement in 1942 and withdrew after 5-6 days. Thereafter Nehru-Patel were having regular meetings with the Vice Roy how to help in the British war efforts ( against Azad Hind Fauz?). In 146, Gandhi got the chance to have mass movement at the time of the revolt of the Indian NAVY, but he was against the rebels, and went ahead with fruitless negotiations with the British and the Muslim League. With a more intelligent and brave leader India could do better. Gandhi was a curse for India at the worse time of India"s history. That was the reason India was partitioned by the British to satisfy their Muslim allies.

Gandhi rejected Fajlul Haque ( and his assistant Mujibur Rahman) in 1938; otherwise Bengal could not be partitioned as Muslim League was not important in Bengal at that time. Gandhi also rejected Allah Bux of Sindh and his Unionist Party, which was against the Muslim League. Gandhi rejected Khan Abdul Gaffer Khan and Baluchistan. Gandhi"s main fault was to accept Muslim League and Jinnah as the only representative of the Muslim, what the British wanted. Muslim League was created by the British and Jinnah was following the instruction of Churchill to create hell in India. Also, Gandhi-Nehru-Patel should not have accepted the British proposal at all. However, the blame should be on Jinnah and his Muslim League.

They have made a lot of mistakes, willingly or by unwillingly, but they had never demanded partition, called the mob to kill people get the partition. These were done since 1906 by the Muslim League. It had created communal riots at the instructions of the British. British wanted to cut India into pieces and they did. Muslims were their partners. Muslims never fought for the freedom of India. Even in 1857 they fought to reestablish the Muslim Mughal Empire. Yes, without Gandhi India would be better off. Most possibly India could get the Home Rule by 1930 peacefully, independence would follow afterwards. However, even then Muslims would not stay with India, if they are the majority. Muslims stay with India only where they in minority. Neither Gandhi nor Nehru could change the mind of the Muslims.

CR was authorized to draw a map. He had no direct top-level say in partition. He infact predicted uncannily that Pak would disintegrate in 25 years. So it did. Further, if Rajagopalachari were not around, Gandhi and Hijda Nehru would have passed on bigger chunks of India to Pakistan. CR gave contiguous and small regions to Pak which prompted Jinnah or others in Muslim League to say it looked like "moth-eaten land map". FYI, CR"s map was rejected at first, and after a gap of many years, once again accepted. would have gifted. Dr Basu, India"s tragedy was sidelining of Prince among Patriots, Netaji.
