The following article provides a chronology of TTP or the Pakistani Taliban and its mission.

SAAG Paper no. 3471; 23-Oct-2009

"Military Supremacy, Eliminating Terrorism, Safeguarding Democracy - Pakistan Must Decide" By Bhaskar Roy

Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

There are many conspiracy theories floating around on Internet; Charlie Sheen and Michael Moore exploit their celebraty status to spread some of them. These activists thrive on inciting public opinion, IMHO.

As far Clintons, well they are the officers of Government of US. What can I say other than that I am not surprised at their brand of diplomacy.

So it goes.

Sorry, previous message got mutilated. This is correcte now.

Don"t be worried. I wrote that comment 17, but somehow by mistake I put your id instead of my name.
You Tube has video of Hillary Clinton saying that "We have organized Taliban", true indeed, in 1996 Bill Clinton has created Taliban out of the rank and file of Pakistan army. These so-called Talibs from Madarasas could drive a battle-tank or helicopter gun ship or fighter aircrafts against the Afghan government of Rabbani.
You Tube also has another video of both Sheen ( actor of The Wall Street) and of Michael Moore both claiming that 9/11 was an inside job.

18 030201kishankb on Oct-20 :

Moderator, please note that I did not post the comment #17. Someone else has impersonated my id. Please help, if you can. Thank you.
17 030201kishankb on Oct-20 :

I suggest you to watch You Tube video on CIA has organized the recent Sunny attack on Iran and the evidences that CIA has organized Al-Queada, Taliban, Muzzahideens etc etc.

Since 1956, when CIA put Ayub Khan on power, USA is pampering Pakistan.

16 030201kishankb on Oct-17 :

S.Ghosh at 02:41 Today : I quote from an commentary by C. Raja Mohan titled, US and the Pak Army: the mirage of civilian control (Indian Express, Oct 17), "Section 302 (a) (15) of the Kerry-Lugar bill says the Secretary of State must offer the following every six months: "an assessment of the extent to which the Government of Pakistan exercises effective civilian control of the military, including a description of the extent to which civilian executive leaders and parliament exercise oversight and approval of military budgets, the chain of command, the process of promotion for senior military leaders, civilian involvement in strategic guidance and planning, and military involvement in civil administration."

C Raja Mohan observed, "Vow! This seems revolutionary in the context of Pakistan, where the Army and ISI have loomed so large over the civil society for so long. No wonder the debate in Pakistan is so animated. But at the heart of it there just two simple threads."

What do you think?
15 030201kishankb on Oct-16 :

S.Ghosh at 02:41 Today :

I disagree with some of what you stated. However, it is academic and we are dealing with realities as they exists today.

It is too soon to tell what will be the consequences of the Kerry-Lugar Bill, IMHO. All I know is that Pakistan today economically is a bankrupt state and IMO, it will take a long time, may be a generation or more before it will return to an economically viable nuclear power.

As long as American and NATO forces are in Afghanistan, Pakistan will not be able to destabilize Afghan government, IMO.
14 S.Ghosh on Oct-16 :

USA through the Kerry-Lugar Bill that will provide $7.5 billion aid to Pakistan so that Pakistan can spend all its budget to finance terrorism in India.

13 S.Ghosh on Oct-16 :

So, Indira Gandhi was correct in 1979. india was the only country outside the Soviet Block, that has told the truth:

Pakistan had invaded Afghanistan in 1978 and to protect Afghanistan according to the Afghan-Soviet Treaty USSr sent its army otherwise Afghanistan would be occupied by Pakistan.

However, the Western media, still today, along with everyone else are telling a total lie that the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in December 1979.

Today, Afghanistan has more American soldiers that USSR had. Is it any better?

If there would be no American-Pakistani intervention on Afghanistan in 1978, there would not be any Taliban, Muzzahideens, Al-Queada, Laskar E Taiba Etc Etc.

12 030201kishankb on Oct-15 :

S.Ghosh on Wednesday:

Most of what you said, I agree.

For those interested please see, "Country Profile: Pakistan" by Nadeem Paracha (Dawn, October 15, 2009); I have not laughed as hard as I did reading Paracha"s satarical article. Paracha"s article, satare aside shed light on Taliban, al Qaeda, army and all that is responsible for on-going insurgency in Pakistan.

Also there was a commentary on Terrorist insurgency in Pakistan and a part being played by America in WSJ a couple of days ago for those interested in American POV.
11 S.Ghosh on Oct-14 :

There are two types of people in NWFP. One type are those like Ayub Khan, who used to be in the British Army and then invaded Jammu & Kashmir in 1947, and invaded India many times, committed mass murder in East Pakistan in 1970.
There is another type, followers of Khan Abdul Gaffer Khan, who had refused to join Pakistan and got killed in thousands in 1947-48.
Currently Pakistani army, members of the first group along with Punjabi Musli soldiers, are killing the second group in Swat Valley and getting money from the Americans by saying that they are killing Talibans.
The fact is that both Talibans and Al-Queada are enjoying their lives in Lahore, Karachi, Quetta all paid for by the American Dollars.

10 S.Ghosh on Oct-14 :

It is well known that USA has created not only Taliban, but also Muzzahideens and Al-Queada.
Ben Laden was honoured as the Freedom Fighter from Afghanistan by both Mrs.Thatcher and President Reagan.
Ronin Raffael, the Special Assistant of Bill Clinton to South Asia, who has a hisband who was the Ambassador of USA to Pakistan, went to Khandahar in 1996 to congratulate Taliban after they had captured South Afghanistan.
It is also very well known the admission of Bhrezhinski that CIA has sent Pakistanis dressed up as tribal Afghans Muzzahideens to Afghanistan in 1978 to drag the Soviet Union to the war.

030201Kishankb:

So, you are in the wrong Forum. This is Indiacause.com not Yankeecause.com
If you do not know the role of Bill Clinton to create Taliban, you are very ignorant.
Dana Rohrabacher, a representative and a republican in California has been very vocal about this very thing and has been critical of this long before the Sept. 11th attacks.

According to Rohrabacher, the Clinton administration played a role in creating the Taliban by giving a "green light" to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and other gulf states to fund, direct, and organize the Taliban. Rohrabacher said at one point on the house floor in a Sept. 17th [1999] speech that the Clinton administration promised Pakistan and Saudi Arabia that it wouldnt overthrow the Taliban. The UPI reported it.

Also he made all to familiar accusations during the past eight years. He accused a department; the state department to be exact, of key withholding documents that would show the Clinton administration supported the terrorist Taliban movement and its seizure of power in Afghanistan. The official he blamed specifically was assistant secretary at that time, one Karl Inderfurth.

Furthermore it seems one Robin Raphel, Clinton"s assistant secretary of state for south Asia affairs until mid-1997, is believed to be instrumental in the rise of the Taliban. She lived in Pakistan for a number of years and her husband was U.S. ambassador to that country. He was killed in a bombing that also removed a Pakistani dictator.

One report suggested that several Islamic states expressed the belief that Raphel and other U.S. officials along with Afghans in the U.S. were on the payroll of Unocal"s payroll. They cite that she provided a fiery defense of Unocal and especially the Taliban in negotiations with the Afghanistan government.

During such an encounter, Raphel"s words -- in effect asking the government to "give it up" -- were so insulting that Ahmad Shah Masood, Afghanistan"s two-decade national resistance leader, threw down his trademark pakol cap, pointed to it and said, "I will continue to defend Afghanistan even if I control no more land than the size of this cap!"

It seems this teeth-shattering reply and unexpected blow to Raphel was the last straw. According to Afghan government intelligence sources, soon after this heated negotiation session the Taliban -- newly supplied with night-vision instruments, satellite maps, and other sophisticated gear -- aided by hundreds of Arab militants, Pakistani extremists and camouflaged Pakistan Army regulars stormed into Jalalabad and then into the Afghan capital.

Suffice it to say that during both terms in office, Clinton and his State Department were pulling for a Taliban military victory. Clinton administration jubilation at such a victory was mainly rooted in its support of oil and gas pipelines. Dana Rohrabacher in his 19 May 2000 interview with Omaid Weekly accused the Clinton administration of providing covert support to the Taliban.

Those people who are just infatuated with Clinton know they cant defend such a thing and with that they merely seek to counter balance it with Reagans support of Afghan fighters in their fight with the Soviets. If anything they in some way feel they can balance a Clinton failure with a brilliant Reagan success. Reagan took an action that crippled our worst enemy, the Soviet Union, and that played a crucial role in the downfall of the Soviet Union.

As for Bin Laden, he worked closely with Pakistani military officials and Saudi intelligence officials, but he did not have a relationship with the Central Intelligence Agency, which also supported the Afghan resistance. Milt Bearden, the CIA station chief in Pakistan from 1986 to 1989, denied cooperating with bin Laden, but he knew of his efforts. Bin Laden was there using his familys 5 billion dollar fortune and construction business.

It seems Bin Laden served primarily as a fund-raiser and recruiter who publicized the jihad and helped transport Arab volunteers to Afghanistan. He became more involved in the logistics of supporting the jihad, bringing earth-moving equipment from his familys construction company to carve out roads and bunkers in the rugged terrain of eastern Afghanistan along the border with Pakistan. It is important to point out he became a terrorist threat during the Clinton administration, which missed at least to key opportunities to get him.

As for the stinger missiles we supplied to Afghanistan, the U.S. had a buyback program. It was estimated that we supplied them with over a thousand. Out of that we managed to by some 450 of them, plus you have to minus the ones used and it would seem that there were very few left. Then factoring in time and deterioration, it would seem unlikely that there are any operable stingers left supplied by the U.S.

IMHO, your views on Bill Clinton"s alledged roll in creating Taliban is historically incorrect or wrong. Get your facts straignt. E"nf said.

Come on 03020KishanKB.
GHQ attack is a Pindiwood film to divert attention from the Pakistani attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul.
See some YouTube films. Pakistani army are arresting innocent people in Swat Valley, people who are National Awamy Party supporter, beating them up, cutting off their hands or fingers, whipping young girls from their families are getting money from Evil Americans for killing Talibans.

It was Bill Clinton, who had created Taliban from the ranks of Pakistani army. Now his wife is giving Billions to Pakistan to pretend that it is against Taliban or itself.

Are you just a Naive or has sold your brain and soul for a fistful of Dollars and a Green Card????.

"GHQ attack highlights Punjab threat" Dawn, Sunday, 11 Oct, 2009

LONDON: The attack on the Pakistan Army headquarters has highlighted the threat not just from militants in tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, but from those based in the country"s Punjab province.

"South Punjab has become the hub of jihadism," Pakistani analyst Ayesha Siddiqa wrote in a magazine article last month.

2 S.Ghosh on Oct-10 :

Pakistan is a CIA country since 1956, when CIa had organized a coup to install Ayb Khan as the Dictator of Pakistan, and it became the members of both CENTO and SEATO. Now it is an official NATO ally.

The anti-communist rebels garnered support from the United States. As stated by the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency and current US Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, in his memoirs From the Shadows, the US intelligence services began to aid the rebel factions in Afghanistan six months before the Soviet deployment. On July 3, 1979, US President Jimmy Carter signed an executive order authorizing the CIA to conduct covert propaganda operations against the communist regime.

Carter advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski stated: "According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the mujahideen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, December 24, 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise." Brzezinski himself played a fundamental role in crafting US policy, which, unbeknownst even to the mujahideen, was part of a larger strategy "to induce a Soviet military intervention." In a 1998 interview with Le Nouvel Observateur, Brzezinski recalled: "We didn"t push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would...That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Soviets into the Afghan trap ... The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the Soviet Union its Vietnam War."

Additionally, on July 3, 1979, Carter signed a presidential finding authorizing funding for anticommunist guerrillas in Afghanistan. As a part of the Central Intelligence Agency program Operation Cyclone, the massive arming of Afghanistan"s mujahideen was started.
