The so-called educated people in India-usually pseudo-secular Indians with Western Education-take it for granted that Independence from the British Rule also ushered an era of cultural and social freedom in India. Mathai, his private secretary wrote two books about him, unfortunately those books are unofficially banned by the Nehru dynasty (same thing happened with P.N. Nehruvian ideas had little to do with this. Only blind Congress party followers will make such outlandish claims. No Congress govt trusted the genius of the people of India. Scientists and Engineers in various Govt laboratories would come up with innovations, but the govt always ignored those, and sought often crappy technologies of the white men. The IT industry was not initiated by some govt program, govt is simply accomodating that industry.

When India is being ruled by a Sikh PM, Muslim Vice-President, a corrupt President, a Catholic leader of the ruling party and the Empress of India, what should we expect. There is no country exists where minorities rule over the majority in a democracy.

As a result we ( particularly the young generation) have no knowledge about the culture of India, which is derived from its long history. My father was 22 years old in 1947. Their generation has witnessed the Farce of Gandhi-Nehru in 1942 and then complete falsehood and betrayal of Gandhi-Nehru in 1946-47. As a result they have no respect for Gandhi-Nehru, but they sincerely hate them. Gandhi wanted to give away India to jinnah; when it was refused he gave it to another Muslim Nehru ( Nehru"s grandfather Ganga Dhar was a Muslim with a false Hindu name just like Ajit Joggy, Ram Doss, etc in today"s India). There is no other explanation why Nehru was so anti-Hindu and pro-Muslim.

He had first hand knowledge. As a pre-teenager and a young adult growing in Pune India, I have come across many RSS volunteers and many more admirers of Azad Hind Fauz. My recollection is that once Azad Hind Fauz was dissiminated in Burma and the news of Subhas Chandra Bose appeared, there was sadness for a short time. Then we got over it and once Independence arrived in 1947 Azad Hind Fauz just wasn"t that important anymore. It was history. My ancestors are from Dera Ismile Khan in NWFP of Pakistan. As a pre-teenager I visited our ancestoral home at D. I. Khan twice in 1946 to retrived some of our property from our home. Before this I remember visiting D. I Khan at least twice to attend family weddings. The carnage that followed the partition of 1947 destroyed many families and relatives. About a dozen or more survivors were housed at our home in Pune for months as they had lost all their possessions. Some had hope to return but it didn"t happen. For those who were caught in the carnage of 1947 it was a horrible experience but for my Marathi neighbours, it was just a news item as they and their relatives were not personally affected by the tragedy. Many Punjabis who lost all in the carnage didn"t care for Nehru-Gandhi either. But they got over it; time heals all wounds. From this personal tragedy I can relate to your dads reaction. I hope time will heal your wounds too. I had two or three books by Nirad Chaowdhary. I know I lost one to someone who borrowed it to read but never returned it. I will try to see if I can locate other books in my library. My wife periodically rearranges my library, so I will let you know.

Thus, his opinion on India"s progess in science is not credible. 2) Nirad Chordhury was not in the Azad Hind Fauz at all. He was in the British military organization in India as administrative person. I have not read his book on Azad Hind Fauz, but given his slavish attitude towards the British perhaps he has justified mass execution of the members of the Azad Hind Fauz, with the full knowledge of Gandhi-Nehru. 3) Nehru, Patel and Gandhi, used to have regular meeting with the Vice-Roy how to organize war against the Azad Hind Fauz. Ambedkar was a formal member of the War Council. Thus, these people are traitors not freedom fighters. After independence, it was the decision of Gandhi-Nehru-Patel not to accept the members of the Azad Hind Fauz in the Indian Army, because those who fought for the British like Carriappa, Thaper, Themaya had objected. These, traitors, who in any other countries would be hanged in public, got rapid promotions but freedom fighters were completely ignored. The contributions made by the revolutionaries, Azad Hind Fauz, and rebels in the Indian Navy in 1946 are not mentioned in our history books, which are written by the servants of Gandhi-Nehru. As a result we had a Transfer of Power from White Sahibs to Brown Sahibs, but not Independence, as Gandhi was opposed to it from the begining. My father was an young man in 1947. Bengal was in the forefront of independence movement, but not of Gandhi-Nehru-Patel variety. The people of my father"s generation used to spit in the name of Gandhi-Nehru.

From what you have describe only Azad Hind Fauz warriors were freedom fighters. I respected and still do respect Subhash Chandra Bosh and all those who volunteered to join Azad Hind Fauz. But for all their valor and gallantry, they failed to win the war. Mr. Nirad Chawdhari was a member of Azad Hind Fauz. He has described in his books the war fought by the Azad Hind Fauz. Have you read Mr. Nirad Chowdhari"s books? What do you think of his work? Both Nehru and Gandhi had nothing to do with Azad Hind Fauz. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Nehru-Gandhi and many more freedom fighters of diverse religious faiths fought the war their own way - nonviolence - and got India freedom; essentially won the war against Brits. I was only 11 years old in 1947 and still remember jubilant celebration on Independence eve and day. According to another view, not the leftist CPI, India is now experiencing renaissance period. What is your definition of culture, Dr. Ghosh? Where would you ranks, on your cultural scale, Dr. Kasturiranga"s India?

Members of the Azad Hind Fauz were not acceptable to the Indian Army ( who faught on behalf of the British against the Azad Hind Fauz) and were disgracefully ignored. Freedom fighters were ignored as they were not Gandhian. Refugees from Pakistan were asked to go back to Pakistan according to Nehru-Liakat Ali Treaty. A suspected Muslim ( Nehru"s grandfather was a possible Muslim as there was no such Hindu Kotwal in Old Delhi during Bahadur Shah) became the The first prime minister of the country, who had only hate for Hinduism. A Muslim was the President of the Congress Party in India. Muslims Nawabs and Dewans became India"s ambassadors to foreign countries. The majority population was underminded. Of course this is a cultural subjugations of Indians by Pro-Muslim Nehru brigade.
